Wolfgang E. Buchweitz, 77, of Punta Gorda passed away February 28, 2010. He was the son of Karl and Herta (Groth) Buchweitz, born August 29, 1932 in Germany. Wolfgang served in the US Army and retired from Citizens Gas Company after 30 years. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Indianapolis German Societies. Wolfgang will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Janet Aping Buchweitz; children, Penny Eichelman, Nicole Leslie and Dolly Hawkins; grandchildren, Lindsay Eichelman, Nicholas Eichelman, Mallory Distler, Tyler Distler, McKenna Hawkins and Mason Hawkins; sister, Helga Scholz in Bielefeld, Germany. A memorial service in celebration of Wolfgang's life will be 10:00 am, March 3, 2010 at River Haven Community Hall, Punta Gorda.
