Willie Joe Calhoun

Willie Joe Calhoun, 66, of North Port passed away June 5, 2008. He was born February 23, 1942 in Kingstree, SC to Joseph and Egeria (Boyd) Calhoun. Willie served in the US Air Force and retired from General Motors in 1997 then moved to North Port. He enjoyed going fishing with his wife, gardening and traveling. Willie will greatly missed by his wife, Charlyne; daughter, Deanna (Lon) Boyce; step-daughter, Maderian Johnson; step-sons, Darrell (Phyllis) Johnson and Emanuel Johnson, Jr; mother, Egeria Calhoun; sisters Geraldean Manson and Diane Calhoun; brothers, Robert, Donnie, Tim, Laverne, Troy; 3 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 1 great grandson and a special niece Kaprice and special friend Lee Lattimore. He was preceded in death by his father, sister and a brother. His church family, the Emmaus Community, and host of other friends and relatives. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 am, Thursday, June 12, 2008 with a celebration of Willie's life at 11:00 am at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev Prine officiating.
