William R. Conn

William (Bill) Robert Conn, 83, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on January 10, 2022. He was born on September 22, 1938, to Robert and Evelyn Conn in Kearny, NJ. Bill moved to Punta Gorda Isles in 1997 after retiring from the Kearny Fire Department as a Captain and prior to becoming a firefighter, he was also a Kearny policeman. William also served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1963.

Bill loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was the king of “all in”. His sons followed in his footsteps, John and Billy, with a love of hunting and Robert served in the U.S. Navy. Prior to moving to Florida, he was Treasurer of the Twin Pine Gun Club in East Branch, NY, and loved his home away from home. He often vacationed in the Catskills with his children enjoying fishing, river swimming, and bonfires.

William is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Mary Conn; his children, Debbie (Mike) Cargill, Susan (Rob) Klumpp, Robert (CJ) Conn, Ann (John) Bellingham, John (Joyce) Bryceland, and Billy (Lisa) Conn; his brothers, David Conn and Robert Conn; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Evelyn Conn, and his grandson, Michael Rodas.

This Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Great-Grandfather is well-loved and will be deeply missed.
