William "Don" Councill

William "Don" Councill, 84, of Punta Gorda passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was the son of Oscar and Grace (nee Green) Councill, born July 6, 1928 in Ridley Park, PA. Don served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Bell Telephone Company as an Engineer for 34 years and moved to this area from Media (Del Co), PA in 1991. He was a member and greeter for First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda and belonged to Methodist Men. Don enjoyed playing tennis and golf. Don will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Betty Anne; sons, Gary (Sandy) Councill of St. Petersburg, FL and Keith (Sherri) Councill of Montgomery Village, MD; grandchildren, Jesse, Caroline, Matthew, and Katelyn; brother George Councill of Atlanta, GA; 1 niece; 1 nephew; 2 grandnephews and 4 grandnieces. A service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 11, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda or Tidewell Hospice, Inc.
