William J. Telfer, 70, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on October 31, 2019. He was born on March 27, 1949, to James and Fannie Telfer in Poughkeepsie, NY.
William (Billy) was known for his selfless dedication to the people and things he loved in life. After working as a cable splicer for the telephone company in NY for over 33 years, he kept working in various positions with friends before deciding to enjoy retirement permanently with his loving wife and relocated to Florida. Billy was a giving, selfless and hardworking individual. A regular “Mr. Fix-It,” always willing to lend a hand to those in need no matter rain or shine. He was generous to a fault, willing to give you the shirt off his back or anything you may need…well, anything except his last Coors Light!
Billy proudly served for over 40 years with the Pleasant Valley Fire District, as Firefighter, Chief, and Commissioner. He adored his wife and family above all else, especially doting on his grandchildren. Billy never met a stranger; he only met a friend.
Billy will be deeply missed by his wife of 29 years, Phyllis; daughter Regina (James) Holodook; sons Jason Senesi and Justin (Jamie) Senesit; brother Thomas Telfer; sisters Janice Marallo and Barbara (Edward) Hackett; 6 grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, Katielynn, Samantha, Issac and Abagail; one great-grandson Jackson; and several nieces and a nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents.
