Wayne J. Worthington, 68, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on October 18, 2019, at Tidewell Hospice. He was born on September 11, 1951, to Joe and Doris (Hoyt) Worthington in Kenton, OH. He was a 1970 graduate of Ada High School. He started working for Ford at the Lima Engine Plant. He later transferred to the Maumee Stamping plant where he eventually became a Machine Repairman after earning a degree from Owens Community College. He retired in 2007 when the plant closed. He continued working part-time for Ford at the Brondes dealership in Maumee. He loved to spend his free time golfing, bowling, and watching sports. He especially loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.
Preceded in death by his wife Denise Worthington and his parents. Survivors include children: Bethany Worthington, Holly (Aureliano Jr.) Villarreal, Brian Worthington, and Bradley (Kat) Worthington. Grandchildren: Halle, Ella, Lilly, and Brody. Stepsons: Matthew and Brandon Burkholder. Sisters: Cheryl (Tom) Barthlow and Penny (Dr. David) Perkins. A niece and a nephew. Along with many friends in Ohio and Florida.
Per Wayne’s request, no services will be held. His children are hosting a celebration of life in his honor at the Legion Hall, 204 Illinois Ave, in Maumee on Saturday, Nov 9 from 530-830 pm.
