Walter D. Galla

Walter D. Galla, 72, of Punta Gorda passed away October 21, 2011. He was the son of Walter and Georgina (Mercier) Galla, born August 5, 1939 in Blue Island, IL. Walter lived in Cedar City, Utah then moved to Miami, FL and finally settled in Punta Gorda, FL. He was the past President of Harbor Heights Civic Center and member of South West Fossil Club. Walter was a Ham Radio Enthusiast, avid fisherman and enjoyed spelunking (cave repelling). Walter will be greatly missed by his wife, Janice "Kelly" Galla; daughters, Dee and Sharon both from VA; sons, Wally of VA and Brian of TX; step-son, Christopher of CO; brother, George "Bud" (LaVerne); sister, Gayle (Clarence); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Toni. A memorial service to celebration Walter's life will be 6:30 pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
