Virginia Herrick

Virginia "Jinny"(nee Chester) Herrick, 87, of Port Charlotte, FL formerly of Westlake, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She was born March 17, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to Howard and Alice (McIntyre) Chester. Jinny graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School in 1940 and was a 1944 graduate of Allegheny College. She was employed for 41 years by the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company as a news analyst in the Public Relations Department. She was a former regent of the Lakewood Chapter of the D.A.R. and former supervisor of the Great Lakes Region of the International Toastmistress Clubs. Jinny was the cherished aunt of Lindy (Bob) Bryson of Newbury, OH and Judy (Bill) Kirk of Souderton, PA; dear great aunt of Heather (Lance) Feder, Brett (Suzyn) Bryson, Tim (Jen) Kirk, Megan (Randy) Gehlert, Julie (Bryan) DiMatteo and Greg Ferlito. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Herrick; brother, Donald, sister Jean Chester Leuliette, niece, Pixie Ferlito and nephew, Teddy Leuliette. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
