Tyler Joseph Lindblade

October 14, 1997 — February 6, 2018

Tyler Joseph Lindblade is the son of Brian and Jennifer Lindblade, born October 14, 1997 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He came to Punta Gorda from Elgin, Illinois in 2009 and graduated Cum Laude from Charlotte High School in 2016. Tyler was in his junior year at Florida State University, majoring in English. As a young boy, Tyler played Little League Baseball and was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. He was very excited when they won the World Series in 2016. Tyler's love for the outdoors grew as he did, and he enjoyed hiking, camping, and biking. Often, he would visit State Parks, sometimes just by himself. Tyler was known for his big heart and demonstrated that love on a daily basis. He noticed the less-fortunate and found a way to meet their needs with dignity; he also volunteered with CCMI Food Pantry in Lee County. Tyler was a lover of animals, adopting several of his own, and making sure others were well taken care of as an advocate for homeless animals. One of his favorite places was the Tallahassee Museum and their animal rescue department. Tyler passed away on February 6, 2018 at the age of 20. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Brian and Jennifer; sister, Holly (Dodji) Lindblade Amouzouvi; brother, Alex Lindblade; nieces, Rayne and Willow Amouzouvi; grandparents, Robert and Lois Vinyard, and Betty Lindblade; great-grandmother, Dottie "Nana" Vinyard who helped raise him; aunts, Sharon (Pat) Ward and Tammy Vinyard; and uncle, Michael Vinyard. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte.
