“Tragically taken from us on November 17, 2005, Tyler enriched our lives for 13 years. His talents in academics and music were a joy to us all. The gift of joy he has given to his family, friends, and loved ones will stay with us always. We love and miss you, Tyler! God bless you” Tyler Andrew Jordan was the son of Kurt and Christina (Russo) Jordan, born February 14, 1992 in Tampa, Florida. As a baby, Tyler was baptized into the Catholic Church. He was an 8th grader at Eisenhower Middle School in Gibsonton, Florida, and enjoyed being a violinist in the orchestra; he also payed football, basketball, and ran track. He was a video game enthusiast and an online computer gamer; he was a talented artist, and story and letter writer; Tyler had been a Leader-In-Training to be a camp counselor for the YMCA Camp Cristina in Riverview. He was a joy to all who knew him with his smile and youthful exuberance. Tyler’s dream was to become a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne like his father. Tyler passed away November 17, 2005 at the age of 13, and will be greatly missed by his loving parents, Kurt and Christina Jordan of Riverview; maternal grandparents, Corinne and John Yingling of San Antonio, Texas and Patrick and Patricia Russo of Melbourne Beach, Florida; paternal grandparents, Mike and Bonnie Jordan of New Castle, Indiana, and Paul Schoonover, Sr. of El Jobean, Florida; great-grandfather, Roy Neel; five uncles, six aunts and numerous cousins; 3 pet dogs, Einstein, Edison, and Chewy; and a school and neighborhood full of wonderful, caring friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joyce Schoonover; and great-grandparents, Sarah Neel, Opha and Jay Massey, and Ciro and Josephine Russo. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service in celebration of Tyler’s life at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 22 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Eisenhower Middle School Orchestra, 7620 Big Bend Road, Gibsonton, FL 33534 (813-671-5121).
