Thomas Franzone

Thomas Franzone, 77, of Port Charlotte passed away June 9, 2006. He was the son of Frank and Rose Franzone, born August 13, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. Thomas served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and also with the Merchant Marines. He was a bus driver for New York City Transit and retired after 30 years of service. He came to Port Charlotte from Queens, NY in 1988 and was a member of the Italian American Club. Thomas loved gardening and will be remembered for being a good husband, father, and grandfather. Thomas will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Gladys; daughters, Louise Turney of Port Charlotte, Teresa Franzone, RoseAnn Spinelli, and Toni Ioveno, all of Long Island, NY; sister, Florence Nasso of Westchester, NY; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, June 11 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Services will be held in Long Island, NY.
