Tessie Chelkonas

Tessie Chelkonas, 95, of Port Charlotte passed away peacefully at TideWell Hospice on November 8, 2010. She was the daughter of Vasile and Anna Yurcheyk, born September 16, 1915 in the Bronx, NY. Tessie will be remembered as the best mother in the world. She was an angel here on earth, and now she is the brightest star in God's heaven. We Love You Mommy - Sleep Well. Tessie will be greatly missed by her daughter, Gail (Eric) Thistle; son, Frank C. (Lori) Chelkonas; grandchildren, Joey Lynn (Dave), Donna (Mike), Frankie (Amy), and Jenny (Nathan); and great-grandchildren, Heather, Logan, Haley, Austin, Michaela, Alexia, and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Frank J. Chelkonas. A memorial service in celebration of Tessie's life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
