Sylvia “Livia” Moros, 96, of Port Charlotte passed away June 29, 2007. She was the last of nine children and was born April 28, 1911 in Cuba to Antonio and Justina (Del Castillo) Fernandez. Livia spoke five languages and worked as a custom seamstress/ embroider for Sulka and Company on men’s shirts which included many famous people. She also worked a short time with United Fruit Company and Merrill Lynch. Livia moved to Port Charlotte from New York in 1968, and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She enjoyed taking care of her garden and doing bead work in crafts, but her greatest joy was in caring for her family. Livia will be greatly missed by her son, Anthony J. Moros; daughter, Mercy Triana; grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Triana, MD, Denice Triana-Redden, Elena M. Chadwick and Peter John Triana; great-grandchildren Logan M. Kennefic, Brittany N. Redden, William McCollum, Cameron M. Triana and Thomas Chadwick; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial mass will be 10:30 am, Saturday, July 7, 2007 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte with Father Riley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 1144 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
