Sue E. Voll

Sue E. Voll (Wiman), 78, of Punta Gorda, FL died alongside her beloved husband, Joseph E. Voll on April 15, 2020. 

She was born on January 2, 1942, in Camden, NJ, to Karl W. Wiman and Helen L. Wiman (Bolen) of Berlin, NJ. 

Sue was a retail buyer at the Bonwit Teller Department Store in NYC until her marriage to her beloved husband in 1967.  As a Navy wife and mother, she sustained the values of maintaining the household while Joe deployed to Vietnam. After, they were stationed in Londonderry, Northern Ireland where they formed friendships and unbreakable bonds with loving people who remained family to both she and Joe.  Their final naval station of Virginia Beach became their home where they raised three loving children. While raising three children, Sue also worked as a special education teacher in the Virginia Beach Public School system from 1981 to 1998, when she retired. 

She and Joe moved to Punta Gorda in 1998 where they enjoyed their days in the sun going to the beach, playing tennis, and being very active in their Burnt Store Colony community.  She and Joe celebrated their 52-year wedding anniversary this past June. 

Both Joseph and Sue are survived by a daughter and two sons.  Their daughter, Amy Young, and loving son in law J. Scott Young, and their daughter, adored granddaughter Sophia Rose of Brant Rock, MA.  Their son Kevin E. Voll and loving daughter in law Rachel of Jacksonville, NC. Dearest grands Angelica, Kyle, Gabbie, and great grand Kya.  And their son, Joseph M. Voll and his life companion Candess Bushlow of Virginia Beach, dearest grands Olivia and Gwendolyn.  

She is also survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews she held dear to her heart. 

Due to recent events, a celebration of Sue and Joe's life will be held at a later date.  Sue and Joe will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Sarasota.
