Stanley L. Stewart

Stanley Lewis Stewart, 67, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on September 1, 2020. 

He was born on April 26, 1953, in Jacksonville, FL, to Henry and Louise Stewart, who survive in Jacksonville. 

Born and raised in Jacksonville, he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1971. He was an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He went on to attend Georgia Tech, graduating in 1975 with his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. 

He began his career in Operations at Colgate-Palmolive in June of 1975 and left in April of 1991. He then began working for Miller Brewing in September of 1991 in Production, Distribution, and Quality. He retired from Miller in May of 2017. 

He served on several boards and volunteered throughout his lifetime. Some of the ones close to his heart were Life Span of Butler Co OH, Elks, Punta Gorda Mural Society, Charlotte County Historical Society, and the Butler Co OH United Way where he met his wife Shirley. His hobbies included arts and woodworking, traveling, 5K's, bicycling, golf, softball, and spending time with friends and family. 

Stan is also survived by his wife Shirley; children Angie, Brian (Erica), Heather (Doug), and Adam (Madison); grandchildren Mackenzie, Taylor, Gabe, Kameron, Lincoln, Quinn, and Maxine; brother Craig and nephew Chris. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Donate Life America and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
