Stanley A. Weller, 88, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Harbour Health in South Port Square, Port Charlotte, FL. He was born in Chicago, ILL on February 17, 1925. Stan served in the Army Air Corp (US Air Force) "for the duration" beginning on his 18th birthday and was a top gunner on a B-29 in the Pacific campaign of WWII. Stan worked for Sears Roebuck as an attorney until he retired in 1982. He was the first President of the DuPage Unitarian Church, Lisle, IL and he enjoyed flying. He was an ardent sailor, moving to Miami in 1986 with his sailboat and then to Punta Gorda in 1993 with JoAnne. Stan will be greatly missed by his wife, JoAnne; sons, Stanley (Sandy) Weller, Kevin Weller and Scott Weller; granddaughter, Amy Allen; grandson, Michael (Christina) Weller; great-granddaughter, Emma Allen and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn French Weller. Inurnment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
