Skip M. Mackie

Skip M. Mackie, 68, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Jan. 29, 2018. He was born Mar. 23, 1949 in Norwood, MA to Clifford and Barbara Mackie. Skip proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Elks. Skip enjoyed restoring and showing classic cars, riding his Harley and drinking his beer and Crown Royal. Skip was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his immediate and neighborhood family as well as all of his cherished friends. Skip will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Joan; daughter, Justine (Jim Eugenides) Mackie; son, Brad (Dani) Mackie; sister, Cindy Martin; 3 grandchildren, Violet, Kaine and Ceth; niece, Michelle Martin and his dog, Rod Run and parrot, Dinky. The family will receive friends on Sat. Feb. 3, 2018 from 2 to 4pm at Larry Taylor Funeral Home, Punta Gorda. A military graveside service will be at 11am, Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
