Sebastion Rizza

Sebastiano "Sonny" Rizza, 64 of Port Charlotte beloved father of Sonny, Joel and Christina Rizza died Friday, February 19, 2010. He was born in Florida, province of Siracusa, Sicily to the parents of Concetta Rizza and the late Giuseppe. Sonny resided in Connecticut for many years until moving to Florida in August of 1990. Besides his mother and children he leaves two brothers and sister-in-laws, Salvatore and Maria G. Rizza and Pino and Lucy Rizzo; a granddaughter, Tayler Rizza, nieces, nephews and their spouses, Sal Jr and Lori Rizza, Melissa and Patrick Gill, Steven and Bridgette Rizza, Joseph and Tammy Rizza and Tommy Rizza; soon to be son-in-law, Danny Feola and several great-nieces and nephews. Sonny had a great love for soccer and one of his fondest memories and favorite stories to tell was about winning the national championship in1967 with his brother Sal and the Italian American Stars FC. Sonny enjoyed the company all his close friends and family while playing Italian cards and being the life of the party. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him, including his loving dog, Fabritzio. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. The family will receive family and friends 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, February 22, 2010 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at San Antonio Catholic Church, Port Charlotte.
