Sam P. Dreher, Ii

Sam Presley Dreher II, 39, of North Port died on August 5, 2012. He was the son of Sam P. and Deene Dreher, born December 19, 1972 in W. Memphis, AR. Sam was a Lieutenant in the Charlotte County Fire Dept., serving in the Marine Operations Unit out of Station 3. After completing fire school, he worked first for the Punta Gorda Fire Dept., then the Charlotte County Fire Dept., giving 19 years of service; he was a highly decorated Firefighter Paramedic. Sam loved music and was passionate about playing guitar; he enjoyed traveling and visited many countries. He loved being outdoors, boating and fishing; he was known as an amazing cook, and enjoyed learning about science and watching documentaries. Sam will be greatly missed by his wife of 13 years, Danielle; mother, Deene Dreher; sisters, Chrys Harris and Cindy (Tim) Lutz; brothers, Curtiss (Carol) Pulliam, Clint (Matina) Pulliam, and, Tyler Dreher; 9 nieces, 4 nephews, 4 great-nieces, and 1 great-nephew; and his four-legged kids, Jonas, Elvis, Etta Mae, Emmett, and Elena. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Dreher, and four-legged kids, Jessie, Janea, and Juneau. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 pm Friday, August 10 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda. The service in celebration of Sam's life will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 11 at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Firefighters for Kids of Charlotte County, and dropped off at any SunTrust Bank location.
