Ruth Marie Schiano

Ruth Marie Schiano, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away July 21, 2011. She was the daughter of George and Marie (Herring) Thompson, born October 20, 1924 in Norwalk, CT. Ruth lived in Norwalk almost all her life; she worked at Richards Pharmacy as a cosmetologist for over 22 years. Ruth belonged to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for many years. She enjoyed being with people, going out to dinner and to shows; she traveled the world with her friend, Doris. She moved to North Port, FL in 2005 then to Punta Gorda in 2007. Ruth will be greatly missed by her son, Joseph (Loretta) Schiano; grandsons, Joseph (Leigh) Schiano of Philadelphia PA and Michael (Daniella) Schiano of Norwalk; great-grandchildren, Ilyssa Madison Schiano and Devin Joseph, both of Philadelphia, and Jackson Joseph Schiano of Norwalk; son, Steven Schiano; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; nephew Andrew Testa; and sister Edith Testa. A memorial service in celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date.
