Ruth Mae Clark Roadman, 97, of Port Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021. She was born on October 24, 1924, in Rector, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John W. Clark and Pearl A. Shaulis Clark.
Ruth was an avid musician and started playing with square dance bands in her teens. She played many instruments including guitar, mandolin, accordion, piano, fiddle, and organ. For over twenty years she drove school buses for the Charlotte County school system. Ruth also enjoyed riding a motorcycle with her husband Chuck.
Ruth is survived by five children, Charles Roadman Jr. (Wendy) of Port Charlotte, FL, Thomas Roadman of Port Charlotte, Charlotte Roadman Johnston (William) of Lehigh Acres, Charlene Roadman Trotter of Dillon, CO, and Cindy Roadman Stilwell (Jim) of Silverthorne, CO; nine grandchildren, John Barkley, Kenneth Barkley Jr., Charles “Dee” Roadman, Barret Roadman, Wendy Johnston Grabowski, Brandy Stilwell Bishop, Mindy White, Brittany Portwood, and Brian Ellis; 9 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Roadman and a daughter Carol Mae Roadman Benson.
