Ruth E. Botts

Ruth E. Botts, 87, of Port Charlotte passed away February 6, 2014. She was the daughter of John and Sarah (Vanden Berg) Van Wingerden, born February 18, 1926 in Coopersville, MI. Ruth loved her Lord and her family; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruth served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member, as well as in many other capacities, at Rockford (MI) Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Port Charlotte. She will be remembered as a prayer warrior, and was a true example of a Proverbs 31 wife. Ruth will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sally (Russ) Acker, Lois Armour, Sue (Pete) Elgersma; son, Dan (Michele) Botts; sister, Peggy Carlson; sister-in-laws, Ivy Van Wingerden and Etta Van Wingerden; brother, John (Jan) Van Wingerden; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service in celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 1pm, Monday, February 24, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte. Memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice, www.tidewell.org. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
