Rupert Henry Gayle was the son of Hugh and Ambrozine (Bryant) Gayle, born October 13, 1934 in Clarendon, Jamaica WI. Rupert served in the British Army in C Company, and was an engineer installing and repairing machinery in different types of factories. He lived in St. Catherine, Jamaica before migrating to Buffalo, NY in 1991; he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL after his retirement in 2006, then to Port Charlotte in August, 2009. He enjoyed playing dominos and Cricket. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man who took great joy in spending time with his family. Rupert passed away at age 75 on January 11, 2010 and will be greatly missed by his wife, Brynette; children, Henry, Marcia, Karen, and Gregory; step-son, Anthony; brothers, Hugh, Henry, and Tyrell; sister, Barbara; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte with the service in celebration of Rupert's life beginning at 11:00.
