Ronald E. "Ronnie" Brown, 54, of Punta Gorda passed away August 5, 2011. He was one of twin sons born March 9, 1957 in Beech Grove, IN to Hubert and Bernice (Jones) Brown. Ronnie and his siblings pitched in at family owned Brownies Marine, which continues successfully today under the management of sister, Margaret. He then began to explore the country, living in beautiful places such as Baldwin, KS and Arizona before joining his brother, Donnie, in California where they founded DB Sound. They took their talents to Juneau, AK, producing concerts for the state; and later were invited to Austin, TX to work for Willie Nelson and Tim O'Connor at the Austin Opera House. Their mother joined them in Austin and they all enjoyed time working with many great artists. In 1986, the three moved to small, but rapidly growing Punta Gorda where they continue on with DB Sound to present day. Ronnie enjoyed working concert productions, not only for large concert events, but also for many charitable organizations. Working with the charities gave him great pride. Ronnie will be greatly missed by his brother, Donnie (Debra) Brown, of Punta Gorda; sisters, Margaret (Jim) Massey and Barbara (Phil) McDonald both of Indianapolis; nieces, Molly Pearson, Emily Dick and Amy Brown Shrader; and nephew, Marc Massey. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Chris Massey. The celebration of Ronnie's life will be at 7:00 pm Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Harbor Heights Civic Assn. Please wear casual concert attire. Memorial donations may be made to Friends for the Advancement of Musical Education, Inc., 1671 Manor Rd, Englewood, FL 3.4223.
