Ronald K. Carpenter

Ronald Kin Kade Carpenter, 71, of Arcadia, FL passed away Friday, Mar. 15, 2013 in Port Charlotte of cancer. He was born November 11, 1941 in Three Rivers, MI to Mary Altonia Mercer and Hubert K. Carpenter. Ron was a plumber by trade for many years until his disability forced his retirement. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Ron was an avid golfer receiving a hole-in-one plaque in 1999. He was a member of Deep Creek Elks Lodge in Punta Gorda and American Legion Post 2010 in Port Charlotte. On Sept. 1, 1994, he married Joyce Scott in Punta Gorda, FL. He loved spending time with his family. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife, Joyce Scott; children, Patricia (Steve) Baker and Lisa Scott both of Winchester, VA, Michael (Alisa) True of Port Charlotte, FL, Bill (Denise) Scott of Punta Gorda, FL; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Naoma Irelan of White Pigeon, MI; brothers, Bill (La Donna) of Oakwood, OH, Phillip (Pam) Hoffine of Three Rivers, MI and Danny Urick of MI; step-father, John Reid of AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Horace and Leora Carpenter and Fletcher and Anna Mercer; sister, Diana Couch; step-father, Harold Hoffine; step-mother, Ruth Carpenter and Audrey Carpenter; nephew, Ronnie Dean Ramer and brother-in-law, David Irelan.
