Rodman E.”Rod” Evans, 84, of Punta Gorda passed away April 27, 2007. He was born August 24, 1922 in Roxana, DE to Grover Cleveland and Anna (Hastings) Evans. Rod served in the US Army in the European Theater and was a devoted family man. He enjoyed boating, fishing and working in the yard when he was able. Rod will be greatly missed by his wife Delores; children Stephanie (Ismail) Kirmaci, Rhonda Berliner, Rodman J. (Heather) Evans, Brian (Barbara) Evans and John Cole; grandchildren Kent and Elyse Kirmaci, Rhiannon (Billy) Miller, Joshua, Mackenzie, Roddy, Chloe Evans, David Evans, Walter, Ian and Dustin Cole; great-grandchild, Kaya Paece Miller; brothers Pete (Evelyn) Evans and Paul Evans. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Evans Cole, sisters Elsie Gray and Grace Kushela and a brother Harold Evans. A celebration of Rod’s life will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Cleveland United Methodist Church, 28038 Cleveland Avenue, Punta Gorda with Rev. Daniel Baker officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleveland United Methodist Church, 28038 Cleveland Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL 33982.
