Robert L. Martin

Robert L. Martin, 85, of North Port, FL passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was the son of Oscar and Roxie (nee Brundage) Martin, born June 3, 1927 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII. He was the former General Manager of the Iowa Oaks, Triple A affiliate of Chicago White Sox and moved to this area from Des Moines, Iowa in 2002. Robert enjoyed sports and going fishing. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 30 years, Marjorie; daughter Vicky; step-daughters, Linda Allen of Dunnellon, FL, Sandra Morris of Waukee, IA, Shari Leo of Des Moines, IA and Jeri Schrimper of Cedar Rapid, IA; son, Rick; step-sons, Michael Kerr of Ft. Collins, CO and Steven Kerr of Chandler, AZ; 2 grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren and 15 step-great grandchildren and four legged companion, Riley. No service is planned at this time.
