Robert F. Sturdevant, 82, of Port Charlotte passed away August 9, 2006. He was born August 31, 1923 in Chadron, Nebraska to William and Rose (Allbright) Sturdevant. Robert served in the US Army during WWII and worked for 25 years for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft a Division of United Technologies in E. Hartford, CT. He was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church and past president of Tiffin Lions Club. In 1989 Mr. & Mrs. Sturdevant were featured in an article of Town and Country Magazine and Domestications Mail Order Catalog in their portrayal of Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus. Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis; daughters Kathleen (David) Follansbee of S. Windsor, CT and Amy Jo (Charles) Roberson of Scotch Plains, NJ; son William (Wendy) Sturdevant of Port Charlotte; sister Dorene (Aldean) Marrs of Loveland, CO; grandchildren Christopher and Carrie Rose. The family will received friends 3:00 - 4:00 pm, Saturday, August 12 with a celebration of Robert’s life to follow at 4:00 pm at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial donations maybe made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 1144 Veronica St., Pt. Charlotte, FL 33952. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
