Robert F. Horton

Robert F. Horton, 62, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015. He was the son of Billie Lou Downey, born January 27, 1953 in Grayson, KY. Robert graduated in 1971 from Charlotte High and played football and baseball. He was active supporter of Charlotte High wrestling, softball and football teams, especially when his children played. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda. He will be remembered as a sacrificial person, loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Lynne; daughter, Alice Horton; sons, Robert Horton, Jr. (Tina), Brad (Brandi) Horton and Ross Horton; brother, Charles Wayne Horton; grandchildren, Nick, Ethan, Abby and Sydney. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cyndee Horton Bennett and aunt, Bobbie Damron. A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Punta Gorda.
