Robert B. Collins, 70, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020. He was born on June 21, 1950 in Plainfield, NJ to his devoted parents Richard F. and Virginia B. Collins.
Rob grew up in Mountainside, New Jersey. He had a propensity for athletics and graduated from Governor Livingston Regional High School. Rob continued his education at Florida State University, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Fine Art. In 1998, Rob moved to Punta Gorda, having spent his adult life in Colorado and New York City. A salesman, he had a career in real estate spanning over forty years. He enjoyed pottery, ceramics, skiing, sailing, kayaking, and scuba diving. Rob was a member of the Charlotte Harbor Kayak Club and would often hold open discussion meetings at his local church. He had “the will to do and the soul to dare.”
Rob will be deeply missed by his daughter Jill Fellner; brother Richard (Kathryn) Collins; cousin Karen Vance; and nieces and nephews Jill, Kelly, Erin and Sean, who reside in New Jersey.
