Richard W. "Dick" Gamble, 83 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away July 19, 2017. He was born Oct. 20, 1933 in Cloquet, MN, the son of Eldon and Eleanor Gamble. Dick graduated from Cloquet High in 1952. Served 4 yrs in the US Navy and attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. He married the love of his life Colleen Wheaton in 1961. Dick was employed by the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years and moved to Florida when he retired in 1994. He was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, serving on the Vestry and other committees. Dick was also an active volunteer at Fawcett Hospital and past member of the Isles Yacht Club. He leaves many people who had the pleasure of knowing him; he will be missed beyond words. Dick will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Colleen; son, Charles; grandsons, Nicholas and Benjamin of CT and all three have attained the rank of Eagle Scout. A celebration of life service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Punta Gorda. Memorial donations may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd or Back Pack Kidz in Dick's memory.
