Richard Standafer

Richard Ellis "Dick" Standafer, 64, of Port Charlotte passed away September 8, 2010. He was the son of Conley and Gilberta (Rose) Standafer, born December 2, 1945 in New Albany, IN. Dick was the owner of R. E. Standafer Construction, a construction company that was handed down to him by his father. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1987 from Lexington, KY. Dick loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and enjoyed his pets; he was known for his wonderful sense of humor. Dick will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Pam; sons, Dickie (Kim) Standafer of Port Charlotte and Duane (Cheryl) Standafer of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jourdain, Hillary, Megan, and Curtis; and sisters, Gwen (Steve) Newkirk of Georgetown, KY, Geri (Stalker) Reed of Peachtree City, GA, and Judy Standafer of Alaska.
