Richard P. Barone, Sr., 68, of North Port passed away October 10, 2012. He was the son of Louis and Catherine (Conti) Barone, born September 17, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY. Rich came to North Port from Franklin Square, NY, and was the owner of Joy Seas Port O'Call Bait & Tackle. He loved his animals, enjoyed boating, watching the NY Giants, and spending time with his family and friends. Rich will be remembered as a selfless man who loved and was loved by many. Rich will be greatly missed by his wife of 9 years, Kennetha Barone; son, Thomas (Jennifer) Barone; daughter, Denise (Andrew) Kilanowski; step-daughters, Angelena Nigh and Kennetha Burdette; grandchildren, Nick, Kassie, and Rayna; step-grandchildren, Robby, Mark, Brandon, Bryan, Eric, Jacob, and Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joyce, and son, Richard Barone, Jr. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm Monday, October 15 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with the service beginning at 2:00. A celebration gathering will take place at the bait shop in the early evening. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assn., P O Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
