Richard M. Schave

Richard Marvin Schave, age 81 of North Port, FL, formerly of Garden, MI passed away August 18, 2015. He was born October 27, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Marvin Lawrence Schave and Mabel Martha (nee Schubring) Schave. Richard grew up in Fraser, Michigan and joined the US Marine Corp in 1951 serving a year in the Korea War. After his discharge from the USMC, he joined the Michigan State Police Department in 1955, serving at various posts and assignments during his career with the agency, retiring in 1981 as the Post Commander at Gladstone. He married Nancy Ann in 1956 and spent the rest of his life with the love of his life. They were blessed with two sons, Mark and Tim both whom passed away early in life. Mark from a heart attack and Tim from multiple sclerosis. They also had seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren all who reside in South Dakota. One grandson, Timothy preceded him in death. At his request there will be no memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to Rode Heaver Boys, 380 Boys Ranch Road, Palatka, FL 32177. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral.
