Richard L Tappy

Richard L. Tappy, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on July 30, 2021. He was born on December 8, 1934, to Arthur and Katherine Tappy in Detroit, MI. Richard was employed in Transit Management before becoming a home decorator until his retirement in 1992. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1963, where shortly after he met his loving wife Sally. Richard was a generous loyal friend, loving husband, father, and papa.

Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years Sally; sons Lee (Marianne) and Chris (Jenny); brother-in-law Doug Smith; sister-in-law Bea Smith; grandchildren Evan, Elise, and Arya. He is preceded in death by brother Francis Johnson and sisters Leatrice Basala and Donna Basala.
