Richard H. Jarvis, Sr., 84, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019. He was born July 27, 1935, in Pleasantville, NY to Harold and Fannie Jarvis.
Richard had a fondness for motorcycles and pushing the limits of cars. He took delight in racing cars on the track and being a test driver for Ford. Richard was also an outdoorsman with a deep love for hunting and fishing, evening operating his own tour guide business in Ocala. He was fortunate to do the things he loved in life and being a photographer was more than just a job to him. It allowed him to be active in organizations such as the Moose Lodge and Sons of Amvets. Richard served as a Quarter Master for several years and took pride in honoring veterans.
Richard will be deeply missed by his former wife of 30 years, lifetime friend and love of his life Pauline; daughters Cheryl Bruce and Deborah Giovannozzi; sons Richard Jarvis Jr. and Robert Jarvis; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Edwin; and sisters Mildred and Jean.
A service in celebration of Richard’s life will be 1 pm, Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Larry
Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Sons of AmVets or Mooseheart, information is provided below.
