Richard F. Lowery, 81, of Punta Gorda passed away February 27, 2006. He was born May 18, 1925 in Oak Park, ILL to the late LeRoy Wilhelmi and Bernice (Lowery) Fenton. Richard serviced in the Army during WWII. He has been a winter resident since 1989 from Lockport, ILL and was the retail advertising Director of the Daily Journey “a Copley Publisher” in Wheaton, Ill before retiring. Richard was a member of the Illinois Press Association, the Elks and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou; daughter Mary Elizabeth (Henry) Meador of Lockport, ILL; sons James R. Lowery of Lockport, ILL and John T Lowery of Joliet, ILL; brother Raymond J. Fenton of Tucson, AZ; sisters Jacqueline Vail of Tucson, AZ and Mary Lu Scott of Monticello, ILL. Richard was preceded in death by his mother Bernice; step-father Raymond Fenton; Adoptive parents Julia and James T. Lowery and a daughter Maureen Lowery; grandchildren Amy E Stahl, Paul C. Meader, Lauren N. Lowery and Samantha M. Lowery; three great-grandchildren. A memorial service in celebration of Richard’s life will be at a later date in Illinois.
