July 7, 1927 — August 17, 2019

Rayna Mary Cooper, 92, of Port Charlotte, FL, beloved wife, and the best mom ever, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was born July 7, 1927, in Chicago, IL, the first of 3 daughters to Lewis and Dorothy Simons.
Rayna grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL and attended Glenbard HS. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Purdue University and her Masters from UT Martin. She taught within the public school system in Indiana and both public and private in California. Later, she taught remedial reading on the graduate level. Rayna loved to read, was an excellent cook, and long-time sewer, knitter and quilter. She was very outgoing and had many lifelong friends.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Gearld; her sons Mark, Keith, and Paul; sister Carol; 2 grand-daughters and 2 grandsons; and her great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents.
