Ray passed away peacefully at home in Port Charlotte, Florida with Theresa, his loving wife of 63 years by his side, after a long life full of adventure. He was 83 years old.
He was loved and will be missed by everyone he leaves behind. His wife, Theresa, three children: Karen of Port Charlotte, Florida, Michelle and her husband Richard of Milford, PA and Raymond of Spotswood, NJ, Eight grandchildren; Michael, Justin, Victoria, Ariel, Joseph, Vincent, Samantha and Max, great-grandchildren; Beatrice, Cecilia, Lukas and Adam, His siblings, Andrew and his wife Patricia of Cranbury, NJ, Lorraine and her husband Edward of Sayreville, NJ and sister-in-law Dorothy, of South River, NJ along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, his parents, Andrew and Mary, and his brother, Walter.
He was a well-respected Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Planner who owned and operated Dowling Associates in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He made it his mission to mentor others and promote professionalism in the Land Surveying Profession. Ray was an active member in the Professional Associations; a past president in the New Jersey Professional Land Surveyors Society also receiving an award for mentoring others. He was a member of the National Society and held the position of Governor representing the Northeast Region Land Surveyors.
He was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharist Minister in Holy Trinity, Helmetta, NJ. He was dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa.
He loved to travel and being outdoors. Ray and Theresa made many journeys to Europe including Poland to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa and to visit their family still living there. They traveled all over the United States, also making a trip cross country and to Mexico with his family. We are fortunate to have his beautiful photos to bring back memories of these travels and family gatherings.
His love and passion for Land surveying, hunting, golf, fishing, and photography could only be surpassed by his love for his family.
Ray will be brought back to Holy Trinity for his funeral Mass and Eternal Rest.
