Plaudis "Alfred" Barnhill, 83, of St James City, formerly of Punta Gorda, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011. He was born March 12, 1928 in Arcadia, FL to Plaudis and Laurie (Wilde) Barnhill. Alfred was a long time commercial fisherman. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping and attending Blue Grass music festivals. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Alfred was known for his favorite sayings, "Keep that forward motion!" Alfred will be greatly missed by his wife, Bobbie; sons, Butch (Kathy) Barnhill and Eddie (Karen) Barnhill; daughters, Joy (Steve) Grace and Susan (Clifford) Addison; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Grimm; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother, Laurie Whidden and step-brother, James Whidden. A service to celebrate Alfred's life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial at Indian Springs Cemetery.
