Phyllis I. Powell

Phyllis I. Powell, 87, of North Port, FL passed away on April 16, 2021. She was born on April 20, 1933, to Ives and Louisa Beatty in Warsaw, IN.  Phyllis moved to North Port, FL in 2004 from Williamsport, IN.  She was a Cosmetologist for several years prior to retiring in the 90s’. 

To know Phyllis was to love her.  She impacted everyone she met, whether it was teens in her youth group, a neighbor, or her hairdresser.  Her family was her top priority.  She was a caregiver for her mother, her husband’s grandmother, and her sister.  She was devoted to Bob, her husband of 52 years, and their marriage was an inspiration to all.  Her children were one of her greatest joys, and she has a special relationship with each of her many grandchildren.  One of her favorite pastimes was reading.  She enjoyed sending and receiving cards and letters to her many friends and family members.  Some of her favorite memories were of traveling the country with her husband.  Throughout her life, her strong faith in Jesus was her underlying foundation.  She will be remembered by all as a kind, selfless, sometimes spunky woman.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by her husband Robert Powell Jr.; daughter Lori (Gary) Grennell; stepdaughter Teresa; sons Robert (Liz) Henady and Greg (Terri) Henady; stepson Greg (Deb) Powell; brother Bobby (Darlene) Beatty; her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ives and Louisa; sister Bonnie (Bob) Tincher; and brothers Glenn (Stella) Beatty and Loren (Sally) Beatty.
