Perry C. Clevinger, 57, of Punta Gorda passed away August 8, 2006. He was born December 17, 1948 in Grundy, VA to Dewey and Joyce (Perry) Clevinger. Perry served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart and was working for the US Post Office. He was a member of American Legion Post #110. Perry was an avid Florida Gator Football fan and enjoyed boating, fishing, nascar and Karoake. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 9 years, Joanie (Kendall) Clevinger; mother Joyce Clevinger of Grundy, VA; daughter Tina Denise Clevinger of Port Charlotte; step-daughter Janet (Jeff) McCoy of Ft. Levinworth, KS; step-son John (Danielle) Kendall of Orlando, FL; brother Jerry Clevinger of Tuscon, AZ; sisters Carol (Gary) Coleman and Rebecca “Becky” Clevinger both of Grundy, VA; grandchildren Johnny, Josh, Matthew, Alex, Kyndal, Zachary and Brian. A gathering will be 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, August 11 with a celebration of Perry’s life to follow at 7:00 pm, at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
