Perleta Rose

September 18, 1929 — December 16, 2024

Reflections of Life

Resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Perleta Rose affectionately known as “Pearl” entered this life on September 18, 1929, in Skibo Portland, Jamaica, West Indies.

Pearl crossed into Eternal rest on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was the only child born to Abram Skyers and Regina Anderson.

Pearl was educated in the Kingston school system of Jamaica and furthered her aspirations and ventured to the United States to join other family members in the Bronx, NY. There she raised her two children Lorraine and Tommy to whom she devoted her life nurturing their growth and development. Her devotion extended itself to the many, many people whose lives she touched, meaningfully, spiritually, and with the deepest of sincerity.

She migrated to New York City and worked for the Visiting Nurse Service for several years until her fortunate decision to stay home and raise her two children. While raising her children she was afforded an opportunity in sales. Pearl discovered that sales was her calling. Over the years, she was a sales associate for Presto Pride Cookware, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Avon. During her tenure, she received the Avon Visionary Award which is the highest honor for Avon representatives. Avon became a staple in her life. Her various sales positions allowed her the opportunity to travel and see the world.

In 1997 Pearl retired and relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida. About a year later she decided to start a new career in Home Health Services. She worked as a Home Healthcare attendant for several years.

Pearl personified kindness. Her generosity was exceptional. She was dignified, quiet, yet somewhat assertive. She was always a ready source of comfort and strength for anyone in need. Pearl was a good listener and gave wise counsel. She mentored and supported so many people.

Her love of God led her to the St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte, Florida where she served in various capacities.

Pearl was predeceased by her parents, Abram Skyers and Regina Anderson.

She leaves to carry her legacy, her daughter, Lorraine Hayes (Michael) of New York, her son Tommy Rose of Port Charlotte, Florida her granddaughter Brianna Hayes, Austin, Texas, grandson Anthony Rose of Port Charlotte, Florida, grandsons Michael and Christopher Hayes of New York, great-granddaughters Leila and Aliah Rose of Port Charlotte, along with several adopted nieces and a host of other family and friends.

To “Pearl,” in the End, she merely left to meet another Friend,

We Loved Her but God Loves Her More!

The Family

To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go;
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you love,
you can only guess, how much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must;
then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part,
so keep the memories within your heart
I won't be far away, for life goes on.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All of my love around you, soft and clear.
And then we must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say

“Welcome Home”
