Pearl G. Malcolm

Pearl Galloway Malcolm, 99, of Punta Gorda passed away peacefully Friday, August 1, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice House. She was born June 8, 1915 in Providence, R.I. and was feted for her 99th birthday by her many friends, who continued to marvel at her warmth and quick wit. Pearl married James Malcolm in 1968 and moved to Eagle Point in 1978. James passed away in 2008 and she moved to Sterling House Punta Gorda last year. Baseball was Pearl's greatest enthusiasm and she was an avid Boston Red Sox fan for many decades. Pearl was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Punta Gorda. Pearl will be greatly missed by her two sons-in-law, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the church or Tidewell Hospice.
