Paul Gerald Larsen, 91, of Port Charlotte, passed away December 17, 2014. He was born May 14, 1923 in Erie, PA to the late John P. and Karen Larsen. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Marian F. Larsen of Port Charlotte. Paul served in the U. S. Army during WWII, where he participated in the campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal with four bronze stars, as well as a Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in October, 1945, with a certificate of disability for injuries sustained in the War. After his discharge, Paul went on to earn an undergraduate degree from Gannon College and later on a masters degree. Paul was Comptroller at Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH, and more recently worked for the University of Miami, where he was an Accountant / Comptroller, retiring in May, 1984. Paul is survived by stepson, Charles R. (Nancy) Leuschen of Richmond, VA; stepdaughter Marjorie Moser of Erie, PA; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11am, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at Royal Palm Cemetery, Punta Gorda. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
