Paul A Quirk 82 of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away January 1, 2018 with his children by his side. The son of Francis and Eleanor (McDermott) Quirk, Paul was born in Brookline, MA. The family relocated to Ohio, where Paul attended St. Vincents High School in Akron. He enlisted in the US Army and served as a code breaker in the Korean war. Upon returning to the states, Paul put his mind to an Engineering Degree and was a member of Eta Kappa Nu at Ohio State University. He would return yearly to his beloved Massachusetts and Cape Cod summers where he met and married Angela Mary Trifero and settled down to raise a family in Framingham, MA. Working as an electric engineer in sales, he received his Masters from Babson College. Paul enjoyed traveling and exploring different parts of the county. He left many friends in Naples, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Cape Cod, MA and especially Ohio where he returned to spent time with his family and many people close to his heart. Paul will be missed by eldest son Paul Jr. of CT, grandchildren Morgan Dillion and her husband, Austin of Idaho, Alex and Natasha, also of CT; son Thomas and his wife Kathleen of MA, grandchildren Joseph and Fianc, Asher Dalgleish of TX, Sara and Sean of MA as well as daughter Kathryn and her husband Charles, grandchildren Nick and TJ of NH. Pauls leaves his brother Francis and wife Patricia Quirk as well as sisters Jane Ealy (deceased husband Art) and Sharon Miller (deceased husband Jim), and many nieces and nephews. As the years went on he enjoyed traveling in his Winnebago and on his various two/three wheel toys, playing golf and fishing. No matter which coast he was on he would never miss watching a beautiful sun set at the beach or his beloved The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team all with his dog Sadie at his side, and his favorite blue Members Only jacket. Nearly 20 years ago Paul was blessed to have received a heart, his being damaged from contracting scarlet fever as a child. The years of anti-rejection drugs, COPD and cold weather were taking a toll on his body. Four years ago he joined his son Tom and daughter-in-law Kathy in Punta Gorda, Florida where he enjoyed sunshine, warmth and time with his family. His positive outlook kept him exploring the local culture, restaurants, ice cream haunts and he never let his illnesses get the better of him. Paul recently traveled back to Ohio, enjoyed time with his family and reminiscing, as always, over a good meal. He so enjoyed driving through Akron with his brother Frank to see the old neighborhoods, homes, schools and ball fields. His children will return to Ohio to celebrate his life with them. Donations in his honor made be made to the American Heart Association.
