Patti D. Weddle

Patti D. Weddle, 65, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Damascus, Maryland, fell asleep in death on Sunday, December 16, 2012. She was born June 3, 1947 in Pageton, West Virginia to caring and loving parents, Edward Woodrow and Hattie Lauvone (Ham) Steelman who raised ten responsible citizens to adulthood. Before moving to Florida in 1998, Patti retired from the IBM Corporation after 31 years and always loved the work and friends she made during that time in her life. Patti was a loving partner, mother, grandmother and friend. She met her second love, Ronald Williamson in 1988 and found happiness and life in their many years together. Patti leaves behind a wonderful son, Christopher Thomas (Nina) of Frederick, MD; most loved grandchildren, Tyler Christopher and Julia Christina; a truly beautiful loving daughter, Jodi Beth Donlon (Vicky) of Germantown, Maryland; most loved granddaughters, Paige McKenzie Stanton and Molly Aisling Donlon; step-daughter Michele (Glenn) Rauchwarg of Williamsburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Zachary, Katie, Dani and Nick; step-son, Chip (Melani) of Endicott, New York; grandchildren, Grace, Dominick and Annie; step-son Steven (Annette) of Endwell, New York; grandsons, AJ, Jacob and Garrett; and step-daughter, Megan Williamson of Palm Harbor, Florida. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She also leaves behind her brothers, Ralph (Juanita) Steelman of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Thyer (Sylvia) Steelman of Frederick, Maryland; sisters, Bernice (Gene) Thompson of Falling Waters, West Virginia; Ginny Shaw of Fallon, Nevada; Sandy Constance of California and Donna Eaton of Folsom, California; sister-in-laws, Ruthann Steelman of Capon Bridge, West Virginia and Susan Steelman of Adamstown, Maryland; numerous nephews, nieces and friends she had acquired during her fulfilling life. She was preceded to Heaven by her parents, a beloved nephew, Little Ed and three dear sweet brothers, Bobby Steelman, Jesse Steelman, and her baby brother, Eddie Steelman; and a beloved brother-in-law, Charles Shaw. A memorial service to celebrate Patti's life will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Patti's name to the American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2, Port Charlotte, Florida 33953.
