Patti Ann Bumb

Patti A. Bumb, 53, of Port Charlotte passed away Friday, January 26, 2007. She was born June 10, 1953 in Indianapolis to Victor and Katherine (Matlock) Boyer. Patti graduated from North Central High School in June 1971 and attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL. She married Louis A. Bumb in June of 1973. Patti lived in various places including Toledo, Ohio, Denver, CO, Idaho Falls, ID prior to moving to Port Charlotte in 2002. She loved being a mother and grandmother who cherished her family very much. Patti was a part time substitute teacher and volunteered her time to be a girl’s softball coach in Idaho Falls, ID. She continued her involvement with softball when she moved to Port Charlotte and was the President of Groundskeeper Services where she enjoyed mowing lawns and interacting with her customers. Patti’s hobbies included scuba diving, home remodeling, sewing and caring for her grandson, Brent Walker. She will be remembered for touching so many lives through her teaching and coaching as well as anyone who crossed her path. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Mother Church in Boston, MA and attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Naples, FL. She will be greatly missed by her husband Louis; son, Victor of Bellevue, WA; daughter Angela (Jeremy) Walker of Punta Gorda; mother, Katherine Boyer of Naples; grandson Brent Walker; sister Judy (David) Hansen of Naples. Patti was preceded in death by her father Victor L. Boyer and her grandparents. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 3:00 pm, Friday, February 2 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with a celebration of Patti’s life to follow at 3:00 pm.
