Parker Norman Blaney

February 17, 1925 — March 7, 2006

Parker Norman Blaney, 81, of Punta Gorda passed away March 7, 2006. He was born February 17, 1925 in Kittery, Maine to Elmer and Hazel (Weeks) Blaney. Parker served as Chief Engineer in the US Navy. He was a 50 year member of the Masons and a great storyteller and enjoyed his hand-radio. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 26 years, Dolores “Debbie”; daughter Cynthia Sawyer of Maine; son Parker (Lanci) Blaney, Jr.; sister Avis (James “Bud” Tarling; niece Janice Lorenzan; stepchildren Douglas (Janet) Dodge, Laura Dodge Curtis; Cynthia Voyles and Kimberly Dodge; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service in celebration of Parker’s life will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 10 at First Alliance Church, 20444 Midway Blvd, Pt. Charlotte, FL 33952. Memorial donations maybe made to Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 496088, Pt. Charlotte, FL 33949. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
