Owen Neighbors

“Lonely is our home without him, sadly do we feel our loss but God alone has helped us well, to bear our heavy Cross. He had no time to say farewell. He said goodbye to none. The Heavenly gates were opened wide and the silent voice said Come.” Chester “Owen” Neighbors, 60, of Punta Gorda passed away December 10, 2005. Owen was born May 30, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Chester and Novella (Pate) Neighbors. He lived in Indianapolis until 1981 when he relocated to Punta Gorda. Owen was a good man with a huge heart and a great sense of humor. His greatest enjoyment was his family. Owen will be missed by his wife of 24 years, Brenda; daughter Debra (Gary) Thompson Rachel Neighbors both of Indianapolis and Deanna (Michael) Bennett of Punta Gorda; sons Mark (Krista) Bailey of Punta Gorda and Michael (Heather) Bailey of LaPorte, IN, thirteen grandchildren; sisters Deeva Barr of Indianapolis and Alicia Hester of Tampa, FL ; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Evelyne Gabbard and Lois Clayposl. A celebration of Owen’s life will be at a later date.
